Ogun FMC Offers 50% Discount Medical Treatment For Students

ABEOKUTA – The Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu has promised Nigerian students residing in Ogun State of 50% discount on any medical treatment at the centre.
Prof. Musa-Olomu disclosed this on Tuesday while being awarded Outstanding Leadership award by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
The Medical Director explained that, the new leadership of NANS under the headship of Comrade Danielson Bamidele Akpan have demonstrated good conduct and leadership virtue worthy of encouragement.
He therefore thanked the students’ body for honouring him, expressing happiness to be decorated into the NANS Hall of Fame.
“This is something I value most. It is what I’m really happy about. But thank NANS for this honour and I’m assuring them that, as a way of reciprocating this singular honour, any student that comes for treatment in the centre will be given 50% discount from the normal charges.”
Speaking earlier, the NANS National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Azeez Adeyemi explained that, the student’s body was impressed with the administrative intelligence of Prof. Musa-Olomu which were evidential in his achievements since he assumed office in 2017.
Adeyemi noted that, the FMCA was known for incessant workers, management clash as a result of poor leadership and lack of capacity to handle the health institution by previous Chief Medical Directors.
The NANS spokesperson however commended the landmark achievements of the CMD which include; purchase of a Computed Tomography Scan worth N240million naira, Commissioning of a block making industry with the aim of easing the building of the University of Medicine and as well promised to subsidise the sales of the blocks for workers interested in buying from the industry, procurement of Certificate of Occupancy worth N2.6 Billion from the government for the building of a University or Medicine and School of Preliminary Studies at Ajebo road in Obafemi /Owode Local Government area of the state among others.
