Ogun Governor sacks LG Heads, Traditional Rulers; Reverses Promotion and Employment
Abeokuta – Bearing less than 72 hours of the new administration, the state government has reversed last minutes appointment, promotion and employment done by the past government.
In addition, the State Assembly in a meeting with the Governor, has allegedly passed a resolution suspending all traditional rulers appointed and promoted from February, 2019 till May 28, 2019.
The development has alleged, was borne out of the reckless employment, appointment and promotion made by the immediate past Governor of the State, Ibikunle Amosun towards his last weeks in office.
All appointment and employment done at the eve of the last administration has been reversed including the appointment of unqualified Permanent Secretaries.
All financial agreement entered into between February 1st and May 28 without the Assembly’s resolution was also reversed, which shall be reviewed and looked into by the present administration.
The development also suspended all Local Government and LCDA political office holders on allegations leveled against them on gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds. The reports ordered that the LG and LCDA Chairmen and House Leaders should hand over the affairs of the councils to the HOLGA and appear before the assembly on the 7th of June, 2019.
All statutory boards and parastatals dissolved with immediate effect.
The house in its resolution also removed Hon. Yinka Mafe who defected to APC from APM after general election, and replaced him with Hon. Olusola Odofin as Majority leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
